As AI becomes more embedded in our working lives, the norm will shift towards human-AI collaborations. Your instructors have a key role in helping you prepare for this future. The assignments they design provide key activities where you might hone your skills.

Assessment Framework

AI may be used for any Open Assessments, which are defined to be assignments for learning, and assignments as learning. This is different to the Secure Assessments (of learning) which are often supervised exams, in which AI is prohibited.

Open Assessments can be categorized into the following categories, each with its own types of tasks. As different tasks have different aims and test different skills, each benefits from AI in unique ways. Here are some of the prompts you can use to help:

Practice or Application

Involving in-class quizzes, out-of-class quizzes, and practical skill

Other Ideas

Generate practice questions based on a given practice question (can use Bloom's Taxonomy for a variety of question types)

Inquiry or Investigation

Involving experimental design, data analysis, case studies and research analysis

Involving portfolios or journals, performance, presentations, creative work, written work, dissertation or thesis
